13.1

Yes that's the distance in miles, never ever felt it that I can run that much :) but yes I did it.

It was in the bucket list from long time, at least 6 years. When I completed my first 5K in 32mins, I wanted to go to 10K and then half marathon but never ever crossed that 3miles. Couple years back registered for 10K thinking I will practice but was in bad shape took 2 hrs to complete it.

Last year also went like that but made a new year resolution to run half marathon before my 40th Bday. Got the plan, registered in YMCA since office gym was not possible because of crazy work and outside it was too cold. Decided to run on trade mill in the evening/night since YMCA is open till 10pm which was perfect for me.

Also registered in Biggest loser challenge in office so that I eat good and run regularly.

I followed it from Mid Jan till end of Feb then there were two bdays coming up, Jai and Shri's bday. Both the bdays needed some planning and I was afraid I am going to pause this....but I managed to follow my schedule and bdays, was very happy.

I started the training with 2-3 miles walks and then run. Once I was able to run 3 miles, I started long runs on Saturday. Each week you need to increase it by 1mile and every week I used to feel, thats it I cant run more than this but week's run make you prepare for long runs on Saturday.

Once Saturday I was supposed to run 8 miles and I couldnt go beyond 5miles. I just stopped there, went home. Ate really good on that day and Sunday pushed myselft to complete that 8 miles.

Everyday I was becoming confident. Second week of MArch I thought I will enroll myself to Half Marathon in April but wanted to wait till I complete my 10miles and yes that day came. It was sunny day and temp was in 40F (0C) and I felt like running outside. I was not sure how it is going to be outside on road as compared with trade mill. Some how I was feeling I am going to get slow on road as compared to my pace on trade mill 13:20 but I was wrong, I could run with same pace and boosted my confidence.

On Good Friday weekend it was time to run 10miles again and there were 4 more weeks to go according to training ng plan to go for race.

I could run 10miles on Barber hill road, broad brook and Ellington, it was very scenic just loved it!

After 5 miles decided to turn, send text to Shri

Finished 10miles first time in life and was super confident that I can run half marathon!

Went to Woman’s day celebration in the eve and had blast!

Next week again it was time to run 10miles and after starting to run decided to complete 13.1 😊

So ran 6.2 miles again on same route like last week, and kept on running. Since the road was new there were slopes and those were killing but I kept on running. While coming back my water was over, one lady was watering her plants so asked her to fill my bottle while running around  her house 😊 on the way back there was big slope so decided to change the road where there is less slope I thought but no luck 😄 Still kept on running and pushed myself like anything. I completed my 13.1 in front of  a school, I just sat there when I completed and called Shri to pick up me.

It was a great feeling! I was ready to enjoy Mexico trip then 😄

At Woman’s day Celebration!
